The 1887 IncidentThe Encounter: While working in the woods, a group of lumberjacks encountered a beast with the torso of a man and the head of a dog.Physical Description: The animal was reportedly seven feet tall, possessed piercing blue or amber eyes, and walked on its hind legs.The Howl: The men reported that the creature let out a chilling, echoing howl that sounded like a terrifying human scream.

The "Dismal Swamp Creature": Local lore and ranger stations have long recorded reports of a large, hairy beast. In a notable incident, a Chesapeake camper near the Northwest River Park reported waking up to crashing noises, a sharp acrid smell, and spotting a tall, hairy figure for 15 seconds before it vanished into the woods

While deer hunting. 3 hunters heard unknown screaming and howling in the woods down a valley from them. Enough to make them nervous but due to dark conditions they stayed the night in camp rather than leaving

Sighting by family sitting on front porch, porch was raised 7 feet off the ground, a noise was heard when the family looked over There was a face looking through the railing.

I was sent a report about 2 young boys fishing near Killbuck Creek at the wildlife area, the youngest sees a stump walking across the swamp and point it out to his brother. The 2 boys run home.
